Acne & Bacterial Cure Myth

Posted on 14. Mar, 2009 by admin in Acne Myths

Any and all forms of life function to survive and procreate. From birds, to fungus, to bacteria, all life forms will do everything they can to sustain life on Earth. Even human beings fight biological battles to stay on top. When it comes to acne, which is a bacterium, the same philosophy applies.

Bacterial acne, like any other living creature, wants to survive. Skin bacteria are essential for normal function, but acne bacteria cause imbalance and tend to spread. The notion that there is a one hundred percent cure, therefore, is impossible. There is no way to entirely kill off a species of bacteria, specifically acne bacteria, because it will always find a way to exist.

There are, however methods to prevent the appearance of, and condition of acne. With specialized treatments and medications, acne is completely manageable, just like many cancers are manageable. There is also a ton of research going into finding revolutionary treatments to treat acne, same as there is much research going into fighting cancer.

Another reason why there can be no cure for acne is that in order to kill the bacterial acne, you would have to kill the good bacteria as well. This means that your skin would have no protection against really harmful diseases and deadly bacteria.
