Applying the SPF containing sunscreen lotions, will do good to a certain extent. Consuming oily foods is also a common myth. Consuming excess of oily foods, as not recommended but there is no evidence of cure of acnes, due to this practice.
However, it was found, in a recent research that people who consume a lot of chocolates, are found to have the sebum secretion in large quantities. The very popular myth is the frequent washing of the faces. This is a clear myth, because frequent washing leaves behind dry skin and eventually breakouts. All though washing your face with cold water is a good practice, but it should be maintained with in a limit.
The habit of scrubbing the face should be avoided, as it results in redness, dryness and a soar skin. The next foolish thing that most of the people do is that, taking out the puss from the pimple by squeezing it. They do it with the false hope, of removing it but in turn, it gets aggravated because of the fast growing bacteria and paves way for more infection due to this absurd action. So it is highly advised, to keep the hands away from the part where the acne is.
Usage of make-up is yet another common myth that people believe. Branded make up does not harm your skin, at any cause. However, cheap make up harms and aggravates the skin for sure. So the minimum use of qualitative make up is highly recommended.
If it is an emergency, then you should check out for noncomedogenicones and nonacnegenic properties in the label. Then the funniest belief is, when there are continuous breakouts in the skin then there is constant acne production. It is false, because they are effects of medication.
