Acne and Vitamin B Treatment

While at the local drugstore, you are likely to be drowning in aisles with shelve upon shelve of generic acne treatments from toners and creams, to face wash and spot treatments. Many of these containing benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or both.

It is very rare to see any generic internal acne treatments readily available without a prescription. Or for that matter, any natural alternatives for external use. It turns out, however, that natural ingredients in acne medication work just as well, if not better, than salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, which are synthetic materials.

The State University of New York created a study to compare side-by-side a topical Vitamin B cream and an acne prescription clindaymycin. The study illustrated that they were comparable in their abilities to fight acne with a slight advantage to usig the Vitamin B formula.

Unfortunately, many dermatologists do not recommend the use of topical creams, including Vitamin B. One can only wonder why that is because this natural alternative is probably better for your skin than a prescription and it doesn’t have any nasty side effects, such as Chronic dry mouth.

With the knowledge that Vitamin B is great for your skin applied topically, there is a good reason to consider whether or not it has any benefits ingested internally. Well, it was recently found that the addition of Vitamin B to standard acne treatments produced clearer skin and much better results.

Everyone has an individual skin condition, so it may take more than usual for your skin to clear. Don’t expect to take just one Vitamin B supplement and immediately have perfect skin. Instead, take a gradual approach incorporating other vitamins and maintaining a solid diet and it will be sure your acne problems will disappear.
