To Pop or Not to Pop Your Zits

Dermatologists and other skin professionals highly recommend refraining from popping zits. They believe that popping zits will contribute to tissue damage and various skin infections. Others believe, however popping zits will not scar the skin or harm you in any way. In any case, when making a decision regarding your skin and the presence of zits, you should have proper knowlege and whatever you decide should be done with care. If you do take the route to pop your zits, here is the best way to do so:
1. Wait it out until the zit reaches the surface and has a “white head.”
2. Make sure your hands are absolutely clean of bacteria, or wear sterile gloves.
3. Take a needle, and place it through a flame to sterilize it for a few seconds and then keep it clear from touching anything.
4. Next, squeeze the zit gently to get rid of the tissues surrounding it. Equalize the pressure you apply on each side and keep squeezing until clear liquid/blood oozes. DON’T SQUEEZE ANYMORE!
5. Use a clean tissue, and taking care to not let the liquid touch any other skin, dab it off.
6. Wash your hands, again.
7. Apply a cold cloth to the zit for a few minutes.
8. Apply hydrogen peroxide to the open pore and some type of ointment with benzoyle peroxide afterward.
9. In a few days, the affected area should be healed.
Keep in mind to pop one zit at a time and wash your hands between each popping. This will prevent the spread of bacteria around your skin creating more acne/zits.
