The word Acne is a derivative of a Greek word “akme” which is called as “a highest point” or as “spot” or “point.”

The word Acne is usually termed for the occurrence of white heads, black heads, pimples, and blocked pores. They usually seem to appear on the neck, face, upper arms and rarely on other parts of the body.

Oil glands are one of the reasons to cause acne, and it happens when they are secreted excessively. Acne is a skin’s state, which occurs as a result of excess secretion of sebum. The excess production of oil is due to the change in the male hormone ratio.

Small canal or follicles, which are present under the dermis, act as a platform between the oil glands and the pores of the skin. Acne is a result of blocked pores that may depend on various reasons. Even though, they are not much hazardous, they cause a scar on the surface of the skin.

Mild acne will disappear over time and will not have any serious impact, but when left unnoticed there are more chances for the formation of a scar, which is permanent and irritating. Acne seems to appear for those who are at the age of thirteen to fifteen, and it is all most gone when they reach twenty to twenty five. The acne sustains in the skin for an average time period of five years, but in some exceptional cases, it may even stay for ten years.

Acne is a common happening in a person’s oily skin; it has no relation with the sex, race and mores. The hormonal changes that happen in the teen age are the major cause for this problem. We cannot exactly say that whether, men suffer a lot or women do, all the reports are just predictions, not proofs. The common predictions are found to report that, men to be the maximum sufferers, because of the excessive secretion of the hormones that cause acne.

For a few women the acne production is prominent, but for most of the females, it occurs during the menstrual period, due to the excessive secretion of the Androgen hormone, leaving blemishes in the skin. However, the worst case of acne production in women is recorded when they intake contraceptive pills for birth control. To be on the safe side, women should consult their physician for this issue.

The external factors alone do not count for acne; it sustains and multiplies in the skin because of the person itself, who is suffering from it. Yes, by squeezing or pricking a pimple the situation becomes worse. So it is highly safe to not to rub, pinch or touch the affected skin. In addition, constant medication should be taken for the complete cure.

However, as a side effect your skin will become dry, so you should have some amount of sunlight exposure, so that the bad bacterium is killed along with the soreness. Nevertheless, this practice should be limited; otherwise, you will have to face the other consequences. Thus, timely treatment alone will do good to solve this problem.

Any and all forms of life function to survive and procreate. From birds, to fungus, to bacteria, all life forms will do everything they can to sustain life on Earth. Even human beings fight biological battles to stay on top. When it comes to acne, which is a bacterium, the same philosophy applies.

Bacterial acne, like any other living creature, wants to survive. Skin bacteria are essential for normal function, but acne bacteria cause imbalance and tend to spread. The notion that there is a one hundred percent cure, therefore, is impossible. There is no way to entirely kill off a species of bacteria, specifically acne bacteria, because it will always find a way to exist.

There are, however methods to prevent the appearance of, and condition of acne. With specialized treatments and medications, acne is completely manageable, just like many cancers are manageable. There is also a ton of research going into finding revolutionary treatments to treat acne, same as there is much research going into fighting cancer.

Another reason why there can be no cure for acne is that in order to kill the bacterial acne, you would have to kill the good bacteria as well. This means that your skin would have no protection against really harmful diseases and deadly bacteria.

In the past, there weren’t any medicines available to completely cure acne. In modern times, however, there are great medications that get rid of acne and even prevent the formation of future acne. Keep in mind that acne is a skin disorder that comes from within, and proper understanding how to get rid of acne is the key to doing it yourself.

The most basic acne treatment alters the formation of acne. We’ve learned that acne is caused by androgenous hormones affecting your sebaceous glands and producing an excess of sebum (natural oil in your body).

The increase presence of sebum clogging the follicle leads to an excess of dead cells being left behind in your cells. These dead cells attract nasty bacteria and provide for the development of acne.

The acne caused by overproduction of sebum, is called comedones. Acne treatments target your sebaceous glands, and regulate the production of sebum, in turn normalize your skins natural shedding process.

Upon making a decision regarding a patients treatment, dermatologists take into consideration all aspects of their medical history and examine their particular type of acne carefully. This allows the physician to prescribe the best medication for the individual.
