Acne is one such condition, which comes under the field of dermatology, experienced by every physician in practice. Acne starts attacking in the early adolescence period, and then continues even in older ages. It actually begins on the onset of puberty, along with the hormonal changes in the human body.

If left untreated or when mishandled, it leaves scars. Scars or the blemishes are the annoying red points in the skin, which makes one self, feel inferior. This problem is always irksome, as it occurs in the various visible sections of the human body. Faces with scars, are not that pleasant, and as a result, confidence level goes down.

When the acne emerges out, due to the excessive secretion of sebum, the human system tries to fix it, with the treatment of the white blood cells. It is an in bound process happening in the human body, without the knowledge of the individual.

This cannot be considered as a complete treatment, as it leaves behind scars. Therefore, it is the individual effort and medication that counts, to be a remedy for curing this irritating disorder. Rather than worrying, for this irksome problem, one should better analyze what it is. Initially, the skin type of the individual and the type of scar present should be tested and analyzed.

Generally scars are formed either, because of the loss of tissue cells or due to the rise of tissue cells, inside the skin. The intensifying of the tissue cells can be called, as the keloids, which piles up and gives out fibrous mass of tissues, which appears to be a scar in the skin. The thickness of the scar may vary from one to two millimeter, where as the length exceeds 1 cm.

These may either fortunately disappear, or may sustain permanently in the skin. The other case is similar to that of the chicken pox, where the top surface of the skin is worn out. They are commonly called as the ice prick scars, and their most prone spot is the cheeks. To look at, they are small, with serrated edges and slightly steep sides.

Their texture may be hard, soft, shallow or even deep depending on the effect in the individual and his or her body conditions. When this sustains for a long time, in the skin it leads to fibrotic scars, with long, sharp edges. There is an also superficial type of a scar, which are extremely soft to touch with oblique edges and usually gets embedded in the skin.

The other type is the Atropic type of scars, which has a fair shape, somewhat blue at the initial stage, and then turns into ivory later, which cannot be that easily identified. It is usually found in the chest and back, and can be termed as the semi developed white heads. Perifollicular elastolys is the scientific term for the above-mentioned condition. Thus, the analysis and treatment is definitely a must, to get rid of these acne problems and to get a healthy skin.

Natural acne remedies can offer an effective and useful alternative to those harsh chemical treatments, like Accutane, Differin, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or antibiotics. If you’re seeking alternatives to the normal treatments for acne, then you’re in the right place. Here, we’ll discuss a few natural acne remedies.

One completely natural acne treatment is to apply a bit of aloe Vera gel to the affected area, and let it soak into the skin. Then, you should carefully wipe or rinse off any excess gel. Aloe Vera is not only an effective acne cure, it’s also excellent for many other skin conditions. Aloe Vera is widely available, through health food stores and some drugstores. It can also be bought online.

Make sure you are eating a diet that’s high in antioxidants, like those found in fruits and vegetables. Vitamins A, C, and E play a vital role in the healing and rejuvenation of the skin. Zinc is helpful as well. Diet may not be the only part of the acne equation, but it’s definitely important. If you’re looking for a remedy that’s meant to be taken internally, try drinking wheat grass juice once a day. Wheat grass is a superfood, full of nutrients and natural cleansing power.

Tea tree oil is widely known for its antibacterial properties, and it’s very effective against acne. It’s for external use only, and can be applied to acne-prone skin with a cotton pad. Products containing tea tree oil are commonly available online, and in many retailers.

Here’s a recipe for a natural acne cream. This preparation makes quite a bit, so you’ll have plenty. Mix 4 tbsp. of salt with one cup of milk. Then (I know, this sounds gross, but it works!) mix in two tablespoons of mayonnaise. Set aside. In a blender, grind up a cup of oatmeal with two large strawberries. Mix the oatmeal with the mayonnaise mixture. Apply to the affected area, and leave it on until it dries. Wash off with warm water, and repeat once or twice daily if you have time. Pureed garlic is also said to reduce acne symptoms.

Despite what the drug makers may want you to believe, there’s no “miracle drug” that will cure acne. It can only be controlled, and natural remedies can be just as, if not more effective than over-the-counter or prescription drugs.

The majority of these people use medications with salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, or antibiotics to treat their symptoms. Although many of these medications work, there are alternative herbal remedies that can do the trick as well.

Herbal medications have fewer side-effects, and are not as dangerous as prescriptions or topical ointments. They do not have to be clinically proven to work, or for that matter, even be safe. However, they are.

Any treatment with tea tree oil, originating from Australia, is just as effective as a benzoyl peroxide ointment, without the risk of sun sensitivity. Green tea cream is another herbal medication that works well against acne, and has even been shown to improve the appearance of acne scars.

When it comes to suffering acne, many people experience whiteheads, blackheads, or both. So what’s the difference? How do they form? How should each be treated? The answers to these questions lies within taking a look into their composition:

Whiteheads – Also known as closed comedones, whiteheads are sebum-filled pores mixed with dead cells that cause P.acne bacterium to multiply and form. Because whiteheads are closed, oxygen is unable to penetrate the surface of the skin and produce melanin (skin pigment). This is why the bacteria is a white color and the area of infection swells.

Blackheads – Also known as open comedones, blackheads are sebum-filled pores mixed with dead cells that have a larger opening at the surface of the skin. This large opening allows air to penetrate the surface and create skin pigment (melanin). Because of this, the color becomes black and no swelling occurs at point of infection.

Treatment – The treatment for both blackheads and whiteheads is very similar. Anything with a good amount of benzoyl peroxide will be effective on both blackheads and whiteheads, as well as on pimples in general.

Many people who suffer from acne search endlessly to find a cure, or at least as close as they can get to one. Unfortunately, this is a large waste of time spent trying a million different products that never give you the results you want. However, to prevent such a massive waste of time and disappointment, here are a couple of points to consider:

First off, it is important to understand that there is no set cure for acne. Partially because acne varies in extreme from person to person and partially because no cure has been found. However, there are currently a ton of acne treatments that can control the issue and give you a clearer complexion.

Second, you have to keep in mind that patience is a virtue. It is highly unlikely for you to try some new product one day and have flawless skin the next, it just doesn’t happen like that. Acne treatment is a process that takes time, and the result is well worth the wait.

The last thing to remember, is that if a product’s results sound impossible, then they probably are. Treating your acne isn’t going to happen by taking a magic pill and waiting 24 hours. Instead, try using a dermatologist-backed product that has been clinically proven to improve the appearance of acne. Take the time you need to find the right product for you, and you’ll be very satisfied with the results.

Acne typically occurs during puberty, however, a large number of adults suffer from it as well. The way you treat it and how early you treat your acne can have a tremendous effect on the future condition of your skin. Taking care of your skin is risky business, but here are a couple tips to make the process less dangerous:

* Cut it off – Unfortunately, many acne-sufferers are having problem areas around the forehead region. This is usually caused by longer hair or bangs constantly scratching at the surface of your skin causing irritation and bacteria build up. It would be helpful for those people get a hair cut, or start pinning their hair back.

* Be A Natural – Using cosmetics, unless recommended by a dermatologist, is a huge no-no for those who use it to cover up their acne. If you must, try an oil-free version to see if it helps. If not, let your natural self shine and clean regularly, your acne should at least clear up a little by just doing that.

* Let It Be – It can be agonizing to leave a pimple be. The urge to squeeze it for all its worth, however, could lead to scarring, irritation, and possibly even more acne. Refrain from going near the pimple, and it should clear up on its own in 2-7 days.

* Find “The One” – Finding the right treatment for your acne is essential to dealing with it. Try out a couple different free-trials or mini-bottles from the drugstore to experiment. Once you find the one that works for you, stock up and start living a more acne-free life.

Most people generally want a clear, beautiful complexion. When it comes to acne, it is understandable to do whatever it takes to make it disappear, even squeezing your tender skin until every milliliter of puss is gone to flatten things out. However, this type of behavior can lead to long-term problems like scars. On the plus side, there are a lot of options to help those suffering with acne scarring. Some procedures are surgical and some are not, but the vast majority of the following treatments have a tremendous effect on the appearance of acne scars.

Surgical Acne Scar Treatment Options:

1) Laser Resurfacing – This type of treatment removes the surface layer of your skin causing injury with heat. How this works, is that when your skin is healing, your skin reforms itself new and free of scars with an added bonus of a deep layer of collagen.

2) Microdermabrasion – With the use of aluminum crystals, microdermabrasion exfoliates your skin. This type of treatment works best for fine scars. It is advised to get microdermabrasion once a week for 6 weeks.

3) Photo rejuvenation – This type of treatment uses a special broadband light laser to remove acne scars by promoting the formation of new collagen.

Non-Surgical Acne Scar Treatment Options:

1) Cover-Up – Although the use of makeup to solve your acne problems is usually frowned upon, there are specially-formulated foundations that improve your complexion rapidly and efficiently. A dermatologist can match your skin tone perfectly to achieve a flawless look, as well as recommend a non-acnegenic formula perfect for you.

2) Chemical Peel – A chemical peel improves your skin tone overall, causing scars to be less noticeable. However, they do not directly remove acne scars.

3) Surface Creams – Agents such as these do well to improve current acne, reduce the appearance of scars, and gently exfoliate collagen production.

The most common form of acne occurs on the face, however, quite a few people suffer from acne on their neck, chest, back, and even on their behind. Body acne, like facial acne, requires treatment to heal and a consult with a dermatologist is highly recommended.

When it comes to treating body acne, there are several options available. Usually a cream or cleanser with benzoyle peroxide will have the best effect, but trying out a couple of different items is the best way to find what really works.

Some other things to consider are the causes of your body acne. Tight clothes, purses, clothing tags, backpacks, and certain kinds of underwear are all irritating to the skin which may lead to breakouts. Keep in minds, as well, that protecting your skin from UV rays with sunscreen will help your body acne.

Another aspect of body acne to be aware of, is how you go about treating your neck. The skin in that area is tender and sensitive and easily irritated. Build up your usage of products on the neck slowly until you see results, it will be better for your skin in the long run.
